eSign PDF: New tool to sign PDFs with an electronic signature

by Arvo Partanen

We believe that in 2017 no one should print and scan in order to sign a document. So, we made skipping this painful loop as simple as possible.

By introducing the 15th tool of the Smallpdf familiy we continue with our quest to make PDF easy and go head-to-head with inefficient document administration.

Without further ado: say hello to eSign PDF!

True to its name, the tool lets you create an image of your signature electronically by using a touchpad or a mouse to draw a signature. It then applies it effortlessly onto a PDF document. All this in a simple workflow and in less than 60 seconds!

Update: eSign PDF now also supports 2 new methods in creating your electronic signature. You can either upload your signature as an image file from your hard drive, or alternatively use your webcam or phone's camera to take a picture of it.

How it works

Please follow the 6 easy steps below to sign your document.

Usage

You can sign documents completely free of charge with the familiar twice per hour limitation. As a Smallpdf Pro user, in addition to unlimited usage, you can reuse your signature without the need to recreate it over and over again. We will be adding more features at a later stage.

Note: The law of legally binding electronic signatures varies from country to country. Smallpdf is not liable in case of any legal disputes. Please check your local laws relating to electronic signatures if you need to sign any official documents. Smallpdf Pro users will have the option to create cryptographic signatures in the future. More details about this will follow together wiht its official release date.

Security

The signature tool can also be trusted for documents containing sensitive information. All file transfers on Smallpdf.com are encrypted using a 256-bit SSL encryption.

Submitting feedback

We have enabled a feedback tool on eSign PDF page. In the bottom, right-hand corner of the screen there is a small icon, and by clicking it, the feedback tool will open, and you can submit detailed bugs or errors and attach screenshots. You can also submit bugs by contacting our support by email (support@smallpdf.com) or via our support page.

We hope you enjoy the new tool and happy signing!
