There are two methods to remove pages from a Word document quickly.

Unlike other Microsoft-related offspring such as PowerPoint presentations or Excel spreadsheets, you can’t quickly delete a page in a Word file with just one click. Deleting a page is rather tedious—you have to find the page, highlight the whole thing, and press the delete button to remove the content. Depending on the formatting, some things may even remain afterward. In this article, we’ll illustrate this manual method as well as a quicker and easier way to delete a page from a Word document.

How To Delete a Page in a Word File Manually

  1. Open the document in Word and go to the page you want to delete.
  2. Press Ctrl + G for Windows or Option + Command + G on a Mac.
  3. In the dialog box, type '\page' and hit the “Enter” key, which will bring you to the page.
  4. Mark everything on that page with your mouse and click “Delete” on your keyboard to erase the content.

You can do this for as many pages as you’d like. As you’ve guessed, this method manually highlights the whole page within your Word file, including all the text, images, and assets on the page. Afterward, you can hit “Delete” or the backspace key to get the page removed. If your page contains tables, the backspace key is the safer option to ensure everything is removed.

This first method is a relatively quick way to delete an extra page in Word. Yet, if you’re looking for a solution to delete blank pages in Word that doesn’t require opening the document or simply a much faster way to remove pages, there is a second option. You can convert the file to PDF and use our online Edit PDF tool to quickly and easily remove pages.
