Ways to stay consistent and get your work done on time, away from the office.

Working from home is awesome—if you can manage your own time. To help you be the best employee you can be, we have put together some more tips to help you crush your telecommuting experience.

Communicate!

It’s critical to stay in communication with your colleagues and boss. While physically at the office, you can easily check in with your boss or work buddies with a swivel of your chair. You check-in so frequently you often don’t even recognize it.

With working from home, you have no such luxury. You need to actively reach out to your colleagues. Use Slack or email to make sure everyone is on the same page, and let your coworkers know if you’ll be unavailable for long stretches of time.

Prioritize your health

It’s important to prioritize your health—both mental and physical. For the benefit of your mental health, it’s critical to have downtime from work; you need to have hard “do not disturb” hours when your coworkers know you’re off the clock.

As for your physical health, you need to ensure that you’re getting plenty of physical activity and sunshine during these social distancing times. Physical activity and proper vitamin d levels are associated with healthier immune systems, which will help protect you during these trying times.
