Of course, the steps differ slightly depending on the browser you use, but they all revolve around the same process. We have written a more detailed guide breaking down how to preserve any webpage as a PDF for the most popular internet browsers, including Edge, Chrome, and Safari.

The only browser that does not currently allow you to print and download newspapers in PDF format is Firefox. In this case, you can switch to using one of the browsers mentioned above instead.

In case you are old-school and have a physical newspaper that you wish to save to PDF - you would need to use a scanner to save the file. Modern scanners should have the option for you to pick the output file to be as PDF.

If the purpose of this whole process is for sharing, and the scanned document is too bulky to be emailed or uploaded online, you could try to compress the file with our Compression tool.

On the other hand, if you are only given the option to save the newspaper in image format, such as a JPG - you can head over to our Image to PDF tool to save the file in PDF format. Again, if the PDF file is too large, always compress it.

Can I merge multiple newspaper articles into one PDF?

Of course - there exists a tool for this as well on our site, aptly titled ‘Merge PDF’.

You’d first have to save the articles in PDF format, and then head to our Merge tool and drag them all into the toolbox. Don’t worry about the page or file order, as this can be adjusted via the preview function of the tool, just before you merge them.

Can I delete these files from your servers?

You don’t have to worry about this. We make sure to discard files from our servers after one hour, from the moment you first drag them onto our toolbox. SSL encryption is also in place, and your documents will never be read or analyzed in any way.

Because of this, if you do convert, merge, or compress PDF files using Smallpdf, make sure that you download or export the converted file to Google Drive or Dropbox. Otherwise, there is no way for us to retrieve these files for you.

And there’s more

The tools available on Smallpdf are not only to process newspapers but any PDF document. You can convert, split, edit, and even eSign your files. As stated, they are free for you to use. Check out a list of all Smallpdf tools directly via our homepage. And have fun converting!
